Your Mission
Radical Dot is hiring for a Head of Chemical Engineering who will fearlessly lead efforts on the scale up development of our breakthrough technology.
We are an early-stage start-up; hence we are looking for a versatile and flexible leader, able to adapt to an ever-changing environment, support his team with quick problem solving and grow a strong team of diverse chemical engineers.
Responsibilities will include:
- In the short term, establishing our first ‘end-to-end-lab' technology scale up to process ~1 kg/batch, overseeing safety protocols, assembly and construction, equipment procurement and process design.
- In the medium term, establishing our first 'out-of-the-lab' technology scale up to process 0.1-1 ton/day on a 24/7, overseeing site and partner selection, process design, construction, and equipment acquisition.
- Enhancing our understanding of chemical engineering design choices to inform our vision and strategy.
- Engagement, setup and maintenance of key industry collaborations and partners including exploring options for new partnerships.
- Building and mentoring a team of outstanding chemical engineers. We have ambitious growth plans over the next 3 years, and we would hope to grow an engineering team of at least 10 people covering all engineering skillset required for a larger scale up.
- Engaging in some practical pilot construction work, facilitating a transition to a more managing and strategic role over time.
- Collaborating with the Head of Research and his team in the mindset of 'one team'
We are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on, and experienced Head of Chemical Engineering willing to fight climate change and the plastics crisis with us.
